3/16/13  “Food Security~Make It Local” Community Forum

This was very successful! Thank you to the Albany community and beyond for the great turn out and fruitful discussions. We will have a recap and pictures here soon!

(This participatory forum will continue community dialog and people-powered research around the future of urban agriculture and education on the Gill Tract Farm. It provides an opportunity for the next step in a collaboration betueen the Albany Farm Alliance, the City of Albany, UC and the broader community around the use of  this precious regional resource in our town.

Community education and engagement are strategies we are employing as we work to ensure the establishment of an agroecological education center and demonstration urban farm on the Gill Tract in perpetuity. Areas of exploration at the forum will include farming, education, research, access and management, & race, class and privilege. Participants will be able to identify other areas for exploration, as well.
