OUR MISSION:
The establishment of an agroecological education center and the preservation and promotion of sustainable urban farming on the Albany Gill Tract, in perpetuity.
WHO WE ARE:
We are a group of local residents inspired by the Earth Day 2012 urban farm action on the Gill Tract. Some of our members are long-term advocates, while others are newcomers to our cause. We are a diverse and growing group bound by our mission.
FOUR APPEALS TO THE COMMUNITY:
1. Join the Albany Farm Alliance to promote the creation of a permanent sustainable urban farm and an agroecological education center on the Gill Tract.
2. Let your neighbors, the City Council, the University of California at Berkeley, your congregation, your community groups know that you support the permanent use of the Gill Tract for an urban farm and agroecological education center that is open to the community.
3. Learn about sustainable food production and food security and their economic and health benefits.
4. Be an active participant in building your community’s future.
